Hi! I have been teaching yoga in Guelph for 28 years now! It blows my mind to even say that, but it's true! I am 49 years old and I have been teaching yoga since I was 21! So much life has happened since my first yoga teacher training and my first yoga class! So much life and so much yoga! I am so grateful to practice and teach this incredible movement practice. Although I have been teaching for a long time, I have been practicing yoga even longer! I started doing yoga with my mom when I was 13 years old! I was so fortunate! And it brings me such joy when people bring their teens and tweens to yoga! I myself am a mom to two fabulous young women.
Teaching yoga is one of my absolute favourite things to do. I am so blessed to spend time with so many awesome people every week moving and grooving. My classes are known for being playful and invigorating and inclusive. My yoga classes are geared for many levels simultaneously. This means I give lots of options for how we might move our bodies. There is no one way to stretch or strengthen! There are oh so many. And just in case no one told you yet, you don't need to be flexible to practice yoga. I try to make the classes a little gentler for those who need that, and a little more challenging for those who need that! And awesome thing is we can all be in the same room playing together being gentle or no so gentle depending on what we need!
What I try to offer in my classes is time for you to connect with yourself through guided movement and meditation, through breathing and laughter, through loving kindness meditations and the cultivation of awareness.
